Gardai seized drugs and arrested two people while patrolling trains in Laois last week.

Gardai and Irish Rail staff have been working closely together in relation to crime on trains in recent times.

“Portlaoise Community Gardaí were conducting proactive patrols today with Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail,” Gardai said on social media.

“This is part of an ongoing effort to prevent and detect antisocial behaviour on trains and in railway stations,” Gardai stated.

“During these patrols Gardaí arrested two persons on suspicion of the sale and supply of illegal drugs. Investigations are ongoing,” they added.
