Gardai in the Midlands rushed a patient to a transplant operation in Dublin yesterday.

The man from Laois was called to Beaumont for a kidney transplant.

“It's not a call we get often but one we were more than happy to help with,” Gardai explained.

“Last night Laois Roads Policing Unit transported a patient from Laois who was called to attend Beaumont Hospital for a kidney transplant.

They were in difficulty with transportation so we duly obliged and got them to Dublin in time for their procedure. We would like to wish the patient a full and speedy recovery,” Gardai stated.
