County Final Schools Draw
Following our Promotion of the County Final the Club held a special county final draw where we visited both Ballybryan and Rhode schools with special tickets for the kids attending the games. The tickets were collected on the day of match and the draw took place at halftime of the match. The Lucky winners Fionn Killmurray and Grace Curley winning a signed Rhode Jersey each.
Thanks to club minor secretary Tracey Murphy, P.R.O Robert Kellaghan for visiting the schools , club treasurer Patricia McManus for helping collect the tickets at game and Clara man John Buckley for pulling the winners from the drum.
A special thanks to the schools of the parish in their co-operation not just on this occasion but throughout the year.

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on October 18 for a Jackpot of €15,000. The numbers drawn were 15 26 27 29. The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Doyle for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. The following matched three numbers and received €100 each - Minnie Connolly and Frank Glennon
The Rhode GAA Lotto is the main source of income the club has and now you can play online though our website. The good news is when you play the lotto online you are entitled to free draws, for example pay for seven draws receive the eighth one free, pay for fourteen draws receive two free and so on. In other words, the more you play the more free draws you are entitled to.

We look forward to seeing the two boys playing along side each other in the Green and Gold in a few years time.
Birthday Wishes
We couldn't let it pass if we didn't wish a great Rhode Supporter Eileen Kerrigan a very Happy 50th Birthday. Eileen celebrated her birthday with a surprise party on Saturday night last. It was even more sweeter for her as on the night the Dowling and Casey Cups joined in the celebrations.
Deepest Sympathy
Deepest Sympathy to the McGovern family on the death of Joe who passed away on Wednesday of last week. Joe was a great supporter of all Rhode and Offaly teams and last Monday Joe got to watch the County final surrounded by his grandchildren which no doubt raised a smile. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Sympathy is also extended to the Duffy Family Walsh-island on the tragic death of Jim. The deceased is a brother of local man John Duffy. Sympathy to the Mahon Family Walsh-island on the passing of Tommie. Both Jim and Tommie had been both great servants to Walsh-Island GAA Club.
May Joe, Jim and Tommie Rest In Peace.
