GROUP 2 - BELMONT

Manager - Paul Murphy;

Coach - Eamonn Keenan;

Selectors - Paul Egan, Colin Kenny, Joe Kenny, Shane Molloy;

Captain - Ciaran Cahill, Vice Captain- David Nally

Absentees, long term injuries, retirements from last year - Leon Fox has transferred to Louth and is a big loss; Patrick Clancy is injured, Jack Egan and Oisin Kelly are also out at the moment;

New players- Ronan Flynn and Aron McCabe

Star player – Oisin Kelly;

Key players – David Nally, Jack Clancy, James Nally;

Last year – Beat Tullamore in the relegation play off;

Prospects – A big year for Belmont after a year to forget in 2024. It had started off so brightly with a historic win in the Division 1 Hurling League but the wheels came off in the championship and they ended up in the relegation play off. They had been fiercely competitive in recent years, agonisingly close to reaching a final and it remains to be seen if that ship has sailed for them. It possibly has for the moment but they remain a very difficult team to beat, they are in the second tier behind Kilcormac-Killoughey and Ballinamere and there could be big games in them. You will have to be in the full of your health to beat them.
