Landmark Hazel
Hotel goes under the hammer

Matt Dunne & Assoc. IAVI has been instructed by Anthony F Fitzpatrick Liquidator to sell the Hazel Hotel, Monasterevin on 4 acres by Public Auction on May 11 at 3pm on the premises. According to the Auctioneer Matt Dunne the hotel had been sold for €750,000 but the Purchaser suffered a heart attack and couldn’t complete. It is now five months since the hotel closed down and it is imperative that we find a buyer as soon as possible says Matt. The Hazel Hotel has been synonymous with big bands for the past 25 years and was regarded as one of Joe Dolan’s favorite venues. The Ballroom has a capacity for c.1,000 and every Monday night until its recent closure c.350 people convened for adult dancing events which were organised by the local Lions Club.

The venue was a favorite for weddings as it can cater for both large and small numbers in its multi function rooms. On numerous occasions during the summer months it would not be unusual to see the hotel cater for two weddings simultaneously. There are 25 double bedrooms (all en-suite) and a car park for 250 cars. At the height of the boom in 2006 turnover was c.€3.7million and this was subsequent to the town being by-passed. The hotel has a complete inventory (estimated value €250,000) and is “Ready to Go”.

The premises is ideally located just off the M7 and less than an hour from Dublin. The site extends to four acres and has fantastic potential to be developed into mature gardens ideal for wedding photographs. The disclosed reserve of €450,000 is an unbelievable bargain and shows the determination of both the Auctioneer and Liquidator to ensure that it sells at auction.

Matt Dunne states that this must be a fantastic purchase for someone as the hotel has proved to be ideally located to attract large crowds on a constant basis. Viewing is anytime by appointment with Matt Dunne & Assoc. (info@mattdunne.ie) & further details available from www.mattdunne.ie/057 86 23349.
