2nd Annual Offaly Macra Agri Conference in association with AIB
Following on from the success of last year’s event, the 2nd annual Offaly Macra Agri conference in association with AIB will take place on Tuesday 5th December in the Tullamore Court Hotel at 7.45pm. Offaly Macra chairman Steven Kelly noted that “Offaly Macra are delighted to be associated with AIB on this event, it shows a commitment from both parties to the future of agriculture in this country”.
The theme of this years event is “Ireland: An Island in Global Agriculture”. Leading insights from the industry will be provided by Michael Hanley, CEO Lakeland Dairies and Paul Nolan, Group Development Dawn Meats. Eamonn O’Reilly, an Agri Advisor with AIB will explain the Agri-Financial world and give an overview of how Irish farmers are managing their debt. Eamon said this is our second time to run such an event with Offaly Macra and “without their help it would not be possible.”
Also on the night there will be a presentation from Willie Neville, a dairy farmer and a member of Tullamore Macra na Feirme. Once the speakers have completed their presentation, event chairman Derrie Dillon, Agricultural and Rural Affairs Manager with Macra na Feirme, will open up the debate with a panel discussion including questions from the audience.
Local Tullamore AIB branch Manager Kevin Kelly has been to the fore in supporting this event and believes that “this is an excellent opportunity for young farmers to attend an event organised by young farmers, to hear topics relevant to them discussed and to gain to knowledge from their peers”.
The Offaly Macra young farmer group Chairman and Secretary, Michael Kenny and Paul Molloy, would like to welcome everyone to join them at this event. This is a free event and non-Macra members are more than welcome to attend. Event Proceedings will kick off at 7.45pm with refreshments afterwards.
