Christmas market and lights switch-on to take pace in Tullamore
THE magic of Christmas comes alive this weekend as Tullamore prepares for its most exciting festive celebration of the year. The Tullamore Christmas Lights Switch-On ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 24, promising a spectacular evening filled with lights, music, and festive cheer.
Adding to the festivities, the Tullamore Christmas Markets will open on Friday, November 22, offering a weekend full of unique gifts, handcrafted treasures, and seasonal treats.
The markets will transform the heart of Tullamore into a winter wonderland, showcasing local artisans and businesses - Friday, November 22: 3pm – 7pm; Saturday, November 23: 10am – 7pm and
Sunday, November 24: 10am – 7pm
With something for everyone, visitors can enjoy browsing arts and crafts, indulging in festive food, and soaking up the holiday atmosphere.

The highlight of the weekend, the Christmas Lights Switch-On Ceremony, will be packed with entertainment and festive magic:
Christmas tunes from 4pm: Join DJ Keith Caffrey at the main stage on Patrick Street for a set of holiday favourite’s to get everyone in the festive spirit.
Santa’s Parade: Santa Claus will arrive in Tullamore and parade through the town, accompanied by the enchanting cast of Sleeping Beauty, bringing a touch of panto magic to the evening.

Lights Switch-On at 6:pm: The moment everyone has been waiting for! Gather at the main stage as the Christmas lights are switched on, illuminating Tullamore with a dazzling festive display.
Chamber President Caroline Collins, expressed excitement for the weekend: "The Christmas Lights Switch-On and Markets are a highlight of the year, bringing our community together to celebrate the joy of the season. We’re thrilled to offer such a vibrant and festive line-up for everyone to enjoy."

This year’s celebrations promise to be unforgettable, with a mix of traditional charm and modern festivities. Families, friends, and visitors are all invited to join the fun and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Parking will be available in designated locations, with road closures in place near event zones and entry is free of charge.
