Angela O Dwyer, Victoria Mary Clarke, Willie Aherne, Pádraig Ó Flannabhra, at the Dublin launch of Shane MacGowan: Songsmith at The Palace Bar, Fleet St. Dublin.
THE Palace Bar, Fleet Street, Dublin, was the venue for the recent launch of Shane MacGowan: Songsmith by Nenagh photographer Pádraig Ó Flannabhra.
Following on from the book's successful launch at Nenagh Arts Centre in September, fans and friends of the late great singer, made their way up the long steep stairs of The Palace Bar, to procure a copy of the book - Picturing the Pogue, and launched by Shane's wife Victoria Mary Clarke in the splendid surroundings of Willie Aherne's historic bar, once described by poet Patrick Kavanagh as 'the most wonderful temple of Art' .
The success of the book continues with every copy sold in support of UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) helping children in Palestine and the Gaza Strip. Further copies are available on line at www.buythebook.ie and posted out.
