'I love you son' says mother of murdered Offaly boy Tadgh

Four-year-old will be buried today followed by grandaunt's funeral on Sunday

Tadgh Farrell's funeral will take place today

THE grieving mother of murdered Edenderry four-year-old Tadgh Farrell has said he was the “best boy ever”.

In a social media post Shannon Farrell wrote: “I love you son I promise you mammy is gonna do everything I can you were the best boy ever with the most innocent loveable heart your my only boy and always will I have no words we will get have it all one day when I’m with you baby xx”.

Tadgh died along with his grandaunt Mary Holt (60) when a house in Castleview Park was petrol bombed last Saturday evening.

His grandmother Pauline Holt remains in hospital following the attack which has been described as “callous” by gardai and which has been linked to drug-related violence though investigators say they are keeping an open mind.

Tadgh Farrell will be buried this afternoon following his funeral Mass (12 noon) in St Mary's Church, Edenderry.

Mary Holt's funeral is scheduled for Sunday in the same church at 1pm. Her remains will repose at Larkin's Funeral Home, Edenderry on Saturday from 4pm to 7pm.

Her funeral cortege will depart from Larkin's Funeral Home on Sunday at 12.20pm and travel via JKL Street and the School Lane stopping at her beloved workplace Ofalia House as a mark of respect and then on to St Mary's Church, Edenderry for funeral Mass. Mass will be followed by burial in St Mary's cemetery where Tadhg is also being laid to rest.
