A number of Offaly workers have received certificates following their completion of the National Irish Safety Organisation Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety course.
NISO Midland branch held their presentation of certificates for the Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety course in the Prince of Wales hotel in Athlone recently.
The course was hosted by AIT (Athlone Institute of Technology) between February and June 2018. We had 16 participants who successfully completed the course.
These included people from Cavan, Galway, Roscommon, Meath, Kildare, Offaly and Westmeath including a number from the Tullamore region.
They included three staff from Synergy Health, Jimmy Breen, Matthew Byrne and Ciaran Grennan and Brendan Kavanagh (Screggan, Tullamore).
Each participant received their Certificate from Mr Harry Gavin, President of NISO. John Flanagan (Midland NISO Branch Chairperson) oversaw the presentation. Dr Don Faller, Dean of Faculty of Health and Science represented AIT.
The course will run again this autumn, beginning again this week in AIT. A number of the participants will advance into the part-time Level 7 Degree in EHS Management in the autumn in AIT.
