NPA Managing Director Anna May McHugh honoured a number of Offaly ploughmen at an event in the county recently ahead of the National Ploughing Championship's move to Carlow.
Anna May made special presentations to Kevin Bracken, Brian Mahon, Dermot Ryan and Offaly NPA Director Mick Mahon for his outstanding contribution and years of service to the organisation.
The event comes as excitement builds in Carlow ahead of the 2019 National Ploughing Championships which will take place at Ballintrane, Fenagh from September 17-19 of this year.
A sign marking the location of the site has been erected and preparations are well underway in the county.
Carlow County Council has scheduled its second meeting of the Ploughing Co-Ordination Group in preparation for the event.
The event has an economic impact of €35 million and boasts approximately 1,700 exhibitors, almost 300,000 visitors across 2 million feet of trade space and of course, over 300 ploughing competitors taking part as well.
