New funeral parlour in Offaly gets planning green light

A new funeral parlour in Tullamore has been granted planning permission by Offaly County Council.
Permission was granted on July 23 for a change of use of an existing house at O’Connell Street, Tullamore into a funeral parlour, subject to 7 conditions.
O’Connell Street is located just off Kilbride Street and runs to Bury Quay, close to the new Aldi store in the town centre.
Approval for the works was sought by PJ Lambe, David Lambe and Edel Kenny.
The planning application also sought approval for a canopy over the front entrance, signage, alterations to windows/doors at front, alterations to road layout to create additional parking spaces and all associated site works.
It was submitted to Offaly Co Council on April 13.
Once developed, this will be the second funeral parlour in Tullamore. The only one currently operating in Tullamore is at Phil O’Reilly’s on Harbour Street.
