A UNIQUE piece of sporting memorabilia will be auctioned next Saturday night, March 3 at ‘September 82 - The Play’.

Michael O’Halloran the producer of the play has donated a original copy of a five in a row t-shirt, which was printed before the match was even played in 1982.

The t-shirt itself has been signed by Seamus Darby and is being auctioned with his permission. Michael has kindly donated this to help Scoil Eoin Phóil and St Joseph’s NS in their fundraising efforts.

There has been some interest from around the county in this piece and it is hoped that this will add to the atmosphere of what promises to be a great nights fun and entertainment.

‘September 82 - The Play’ takes place in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore on Saturday at 8pm.

Set in a pub in a small North Kerry town during the weekend of the 1982 All-Ireland Final, September 82 evokes a time of great expectation, pride and ultimately disappointment for the people of the Kingdom.

Characters include amateur pundits, fans desperate for a ticket, chancers hoping to make a few pound and blow ins who couldn’t care less about the game.

All proceeds will go to Scoil Eoin Phoil NS (057 935 1894) and St Joseph’s NS (057 9341121), Arden View, Tullamore.

Tickets can be bought from both schools, from the Bridge House Hotel (057 93 25600) or from Tullamore GAA Club and are available on the door.
