There were joyous scenes on Sunday afternoon at the counting of votes in the Offaly Local Electiions as Aoife Masterson gained a seat for Sinn Fein in the Tullamore Electoral Area.
The first time candidate got an impressive 1,216 first preference votes and proved transfer friendly before eventually getting elected on the fourth count along with Sean O'Brien and Tony McCormack.
Five of the seven Tullamore seats have now been filled and barring something completely out of the ordinary, the Fianna Fail duo of Declan Harvey and Ollie Bryant are set to take the last two seats.
