Ireland is in for another wet and windy week as Met Eireann is forecasting another spell of unsettled weather.

According to Met Eireann, the weather will be unsettled this week with rain or showers most days and temperatures close to normal.

A Status Yellow Rain Warning is in place from 3am on Monday until 8pm on Monday that warns of heavy or thundery pulses of rain across all of the country.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, there will be a wet start to Monday with widespread falls of heavy rain and fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds. Outbreaks of rain will continue across most places into the afternoon with further flooding expected. While a gradual clearance will develop in the southwest and west, heavy showers will follow the rain. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees. Winds will slowly ease though the day before veering westerly and again increasing fresh to strong and gusty over Munster.

Some scattered outbreaks of rain will occur, along with mist and fog patches on Monday night. Where clear skies persist, frost will develop too. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees, in no more than moderate westerly breezes.

Tuesday will see scattered outbreaks of rain mainly across the north and northeast early on, and later across the southwest. Longer drier spells too though with some sunshine getting through too. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11degrees, in mostly moderate southwesterly breezes.

Wet and breezy weather will track up from the southwest overnight on Tuesday. Whilst a clearance will set in later, heavy showers will move into Atlantic counties. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

According to Met Eireann, it will be blustery on Wednesday with sunny spells and scattered showers, some with hail and thunder, especially closer to the Atlantic coast. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh to strong southwest winds.

Showers will persist across Atlantic counties on Wednesday night with longer clearer spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees, in moderate, occasionally fresh southerly winds.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, it will be wet and windy with spells of rain through the day on Thursday. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in fresh to strong south to southwest winds.
