Man handed down six month suspended sentence at Midlands Prison for drugs offences

A six month suspended sentence was handed down to a man convicted of drug offences when he appeared before Judge Catherine Staines at Tullamore district court.

Gavin Lowbridge (36) with addresses at Erry Mill Clara and Clyduff Road, Kilclonfert, Daingean, had in his possession cannabis, and cocaine on dates between January 5, 2020 and September 2020 at locations at Patrick Street, Tullamore, Tullamore Garda Station, Daingean and Arden View, Tullamore. He was also convicted of being in possession of cocaine for the purposes of selling it to another.

Judge Catherine Staines said these were serious charges. Solicitor Patrick Martin said his client had a positive probation report. Judge Staines noted he had cooperated with the services.

She suspended the six months in the Midlands Prison for one year on his own bond.
