Tullamore Lions Club offers trishaw experience to local community

Three-wheeled pedal powered machine will help the mobility impaired
TULLAMORE Lions Club is offering a Trishaw, a three-wheeled pedal powered machine to the community to help older or mobility-impaired people enjoy local outdoor amenities.
Seamus Sheedy, TLC project lead, explained that the idea came from one of the club members who saw a Cycling Without Age Trishaw in another location and thought it would be great to be involved in making it happen for Tullamore .
“Our aim in the Lions Club, with this project, is to give joy to the older or mobility-impaired people of our community. Our hope is that people with impaired mobility, clients in care homes, voluntary bodies, our local authority and our community generally will avail of this great opportunity to enjoy experiencing the wind in your hair, rosy cheeks and an opportunity to share stories with volunteers and friends.” added Seamus.
This Lions Club project was made possible with the support of Offaly County Council, C & S Sheds and Buckley Cycles.
Trishaws are power assisted bikes that carry two passengers and offer a very comfortable cycling experience for passengers and cyclists with deep, secure seats designed for maximum safety and electric power assistance helping the cyclist to efficiently manage the load as they move.
