The weather did not dampen the spirits on Sunday for the first ever Ballinagar Street Feast. Organiserswere thrilled to see so many neighbours and friends come out in support. Your attendance and enthusiasm added to the event's success. They would like to say a special thanks to Hilltop Farm Alpacas, who brought along Jasmine, Indigo and Harper for the crowd to enjoy, David- ice cream for the lovely treats and his generous contribution to Ballinagar Planning Group, the wonderful neighbours, family and friends for the home-baking, Mary O’ Meara, Carol Betson , Avis Strong, Anne Dack McCann , Lillie and Emma McCann, Sarah Conway Betson, Áine Betson and Judita Fazli, Aoife Pilkington Ballycommon Bake House, ,Sammy from Daingean GAA and Ballinagar Community Centre committee
The committee also appreciate the donations made by Ted Brennan Brennan of T.V Ted and son Carol Betson Massage Therapist and Pilates Instructor Holistic Therapist and Brendan and Aisling Mann, Mace Cappincur.
A big thank you also to all the wonderfully talented musicians and singers who entertained us this morning with beautiful music during our event, especially to our own resident Mollie Wrafter on Violin who opened the event before heading off to perform in the Gaiety Theatre with the Irish National Opera Ochestra. The local school was well represented by some of its very talented students, Fionn Doohan on banjo, Óisin Doohan on the biddle, Ellie Conroy on the harp and Aodh Hussey on the uilleann pipes. A really wonderful group of talented young people.

Special guest appearances were made by former Ballinagar residents and Offaly hurlers, Joe and Shane Dooley.
There was an overwhelming entry into the art competition and the judges had a huge challenge to pick winners in each category. The standard was really very high, a big thank you to all the children. Winners will be announced in a separate post along with the pictures of the winning entries. It's been a year since the committee launched the Community Plan for the village. With this in mind they are holding a public meeting on Tuesday, June 3, to outline the progress that has been made and information on what to expect in the coming year. Everyone is invited to the hall at 7.30.
