The popular Quigley's cafe in Tullamore has closed
Quigley's Cafe in Tullamore has closed. The popular cafe and restaurant shut its doors two weeks ago and all the furniture and fixtures have been cleared out leaving another vacant premises on a main street in Tullamore.
Quigley's which has a number of cafes around the country has its head office in Nenagh.
A spokesperson said there would probably be no comment on why the cafe closed other than to say, places close down from time to time.
When asked if we should ring back we were told that there probably wouldn't be anyone to talk to later either.
According to Quigley's website, they have outlets in Clonmel, Limerick Crescent Shopping Centre, Limerick Parkway, Cork, Douglas Village Shopping Centre, Dublin Nutgrove, Athlone, Kilkenny, Carlow and Newbridge. Tullamore is still listed on the website despite its recent closure.
News that the cafe has closed comes hot on the heels of the closure of Better Buys also on Patrick Street beside Quigley's.
On a more positive note it's understood that a dental practice is to open in the former Texas site on Patrick Street.
