Rehearsals in progress for Clara Musical Society's production of 'First Date'

VALENTINE'S Day may be over but perhaps love is still in the air in Clara?

Clara Musical Society presents “First Date”, a hilarious new Broadway musical that follows two young New Yorkers on a high-stakes blind date.

When Aaron- a buttoned up banker played by Stephen Rabbitte and Casey- an artist a bit too wild for Wall Street played by Ruth Kelly, first meet sparks do not exactly fly.

However, when other restaurant goers turn into their inner critics- best friends, manipulative  exes and protective parents, their evening becomes more than they bargained for.

Can the couple turn apparent disaster into something that will last?

Having debuted on Broadway in 2013, “First Date” has now wowed audiences across the world with its superb comedy and soaring score.

CMS hope to do the same under the musical direction of Alan Recks and fabulous choreography by Hollie Cornally.

Featuring a cast that includes some of the finest talent in the Midlands, this is one “First Date” you won't want to miss!

The show opens on Tuesday next, March 28 at 8pm and continues until Saturday, April 1 in Clara GAA Centre. Tickets available from www.clarams.com
