Offaly's own Darragh Kenny has secured Ireland's biggest win of the prestigious Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida after claiming the $132,000 Adequan Grand Prix.

Darragh and his horse, Cassini Z, beat off competition from a classy field, including Jessica Springsteen, the daughter of rock icon Bruce Springsteen.

Darragh bossed proceedings against 15 other showjumpers who made it through to the jump-off. He produced a stunning round of 38.21 as he jumped 12th, beating the previous fastest time by over a second.

He was then there to be shot at by the remaining contestants, and it was Springsteen who put most pressure on Kenny. Her finishing time was less than two hundredths of a second behind Darragh.

Kenny has enjoyed success at the Winter Festival already, landing the $35,000 Douglas Elliman Real Estate 1.45m Classic on-board Important de Muze in late January.
