Ruben Amorim plans to take entire Man Utd squad on pre-season tour of Asia

Ruben Amorim has confirmed all of Manchester United’s first-team squad will travel on their post-season tour to Asia as he seeks to build a “family” atmosphere.

The Red Devils could end a wretched season on a high if they win the Europa League against Tottenham on May 21, sealing silverware and much-needed Champions League football.

Failure to do so will make for a miserable post-season trip to Asia, which United jet off on after rounding off their worst campaign of the Premier League era at home to Aston Villa four days after the final in Bilbao.

The Red Devils head to Malaysia for a friendly in Kuala Lumpur on May 28 before playing another game in Hong Kong on May 30, which Amorim hopes will boost camaraderie as well as the club’s coffers.

“I was consulted,” the United head coach said. “We cannot say nothing after this season, so we need to help the club because the club wins some money.

“We are going to connect with our fans around the world and that is important, especially when we lose and we disappoint our supporters during this tough season.

“So, I think it’s the least we can do and we are going to take all the team, young kids also, we’ll have the staff there.

“We had a lot of changes in the staff, so we are trying to build something as a family. I think it’s also a good thing.”

Asked if he will take all the senior players on the trip, Amorim said: “Yes.”

United’s pre-season preparations will take them to Stockholm, Sweden for a friendly against Leeds, before playing in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton.

Amorim’s men face Fiorentina at Old Trafford on August 9, a week before the new campaign gets under way.
