Rose celebrates her 50th parkrun

There was a double celebration at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend when Edward O'Loughlin completed his 100th parkrun and Rose McKenna completed her 50th parkrun.

Edward has completed his 100 parkruns across 12 different parkrun venues across Ireland and the UK, though the majority have been completed at Mountlucas parkrun.

He crossed the finish line on a high, running through the commemorative "100th parkrun" finish line banner.

Rose has been taking part in Mountlucas parkrun since 2023 and has completed all 50 of her parkruns at this parkrun venue.

Rose and her friends brought along a range of sweet and savoury treats to celebrate the milestone and these were enjoyed by all participants. A huge well done to both Rose and Edward from all at Mountlucas parkrun.

Edward and Rose were joined for the parkrun by 74 other walkers and runners, four of whom completed their first ever parkrun; Mark Kelly, Angela McKane, Áine McNamee and Ciara Ballance.

The warm, misty conditions suited 7 of the participants who achieved a new "personal best" (PB); Sean Murray, Niamh McNamee, Ron Handy, Eimear McNamee, Emma Fingleton, Lena Foran and Danny Foran. Well done to all the new comers and those who achieved a PB from all at Mountlucas parkrun.

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp. There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people. For more information see
