It was a busy weekend for the young Tullamore Camogie Club members both on and off the pitch. This week was camogie week in the women’s calendar. The youngest members of the club played in Go Game blitzes.
Tullamore Camogie Club U12 were in action in round 2 of the Focus Agri League and the Senior women has a home match in the senior cup. Off the pitch some of the Tullamore Camogie Club members U8, U10 and U12s were competing in the Offaly Community Games field and track on Sunday.
Tullamore Camogie Club U8 members travelled to Edenderry for the Go Games Blitz. The weather was bitterly cold but praise is due to the girls who played on through the unseasonable conditions. A total of four rounds of games were played between Tullamore, St. Sinchill’s, Brosna Gaels and Edenderry. All the girls were great and no doubt were delighted to travel home in warm cars. Maith sibh a chailíní.
For the U10 girls it was a trip to Rath with Drumcullen hosting. Tullamore were delighted to field two teams and played Belmont and Drumcullen on the day. It is great to see the U10 girls improving with every Go Game. Thank you to Drumcullen for hosting.
Monday 2nd June Tullamore Camogie Club U12 also travelled to Rath. Tullamore played Drumcullen in Round 2 of the Focus Agri League. Drumcullen came away the winners with two scores over the bar giving them a total of 6 points against Tullamore’s 1 score over the bar giving Tullamore 3 points. For those new to the U12 scoring system all over the bar scores are awarded 3 points and all goals are awarded 1 point. All league results are available on the Offaly Camogie website.
In further development Tullamore Camogie Club have entered a second U12 team into the Focus Agri league taking advantages of our large number of players. Results from Tullamore 2 will be published in next week’s news article.
Tullamore’s senior women had a home match against St. Rynagh’s last week. The Tullamore women had a convincing win, Tullamore 2-19 to St. Rynagh’s 0-3 points. Unfortunately, at the time of printing no results were available for the Tullamore U14 K Buggy match.
