Labour TD for North Tipperary, Deputy Alan Kelly, is calling for a focused effort to improve resources in Roscrea.
“The town of Roscrea needs delivery in the National Development Plan when it is announced in the coming weeks”, Deputy Kelly said in a statement to the Tribune on Tuesday.
“I have been continuously pushing for Roscrea to get badly needed investment and now is the time. This country has enormous resources and it's time to put them to work.
“In particular we need to see a further upgrade of water and waste infrastructure in the area to ensure that more industrial and domestic development can be brought in.
"Roscrea needs more industry and housing badly and the government needs to ensure this infrastructure along with communications architecture is state of the art,” the Labour TD said.
“There also needs to be confirmation of the funding to deliver the new community nursing home that will replace the Dean Maxwell home that has given fantastic service to the people of Roscrea and surrounds.

“A site for the new facility has to be bought by the HSE and this hasn't been concluded yet.
“Furthermore I have been fighting for years to ensure that Colasite Phobail is modernised, extended and refurbished. This decision needs to be made and funding provided so they another generation of students don't miss out on having the best facilities,” Deputy Kelly said.
