Anyone between the ages of 18 and 67 are being massively encouraged to donate blood if at all possible at Clara GAA's Blood Donation Clinic on Monday December 4th from 7pm to 9:30pm. The blood you donate could save the life of someone you know or possible even a member of your family. Last year in Offaly for every thousand people less than 40 gave blood. Next year the Irish Blood Transfusion Service are hoping that number will hugely increase.
They are urging people who are over 7st 12 lbs and in reasonably good health to donate blood at the blood donation clinic in Clara. All that they ask is that people make a special effort this Christmas season to donate less than a pint of blood that could save someones life. You can find more information on this matter at www.giveblood.ie or on the IBTS's lo-call Donor Information Line at 1850-73-11-37.
