The family of Sherin Abraham, a devoted wife, a loving mother and a treasured member of the Esker Rí Nursing Home team near Clara, have received a huge display of support following her unexpected passing at the age of just 43.
A GoFundMe fundraising campaign which was set up by Bibin Joseph, Sherin’s cousin and colleague, has reached over €22,000 from over 700 donations.
The fundraiser will aim to support Sherin's family including her heartbroken husband, their two young children, her loving mother, and her siblings, all of whom are struggling to come to terms with this immense and sudden loss.
Originally from India, Sherin chose nursing not just as a profession, but as a calling. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly across multiple countries including India, Dubai, and Ireland bringing comfort, dignity, and kindness to those she served.
A few years ago, Sherin faced a life-threatening medical condition. Through extraordinary courage, determination, and sheer willpower, she fought through that critical period and survived. She emerged stronger, embracing life with renewed hope and resilience.

After regaining her health, Sherin made the brave decision to migrate to Ireland in pursuit of a better future for her family. Most recently, Sherin worked at Esker Rí Nursing Home near Clara where she was a valued and respected member of the healthcare team.
Her colleagues at the Offaly Nursing Home remember her for her unwavering dedication, her professionalism, and above all, the warm and pleasant smile she carried with her every single day.
Sherin was known for providing exceptional care to her clients, always treating them with empathy, patience, and genuine compassion. She gave her whole heart to her work, and her absence is deeply felt by those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Bibin Joseph, who set up the fundraiser in memory of his cousin said that the fund will be go a long way in supporting the family who are in deep shock and profound grief following Sherin's unexpected passing.
He said: "As we remember and celebrate Sherin’s life, a life marked by courage, kindness, and selfless service. We humbly ask for your support. Your generosity will allow them the space and support they need to grieve, heal, and move forward.
