Offaly man preparing to take on European Ploughing Championships

Offaly man Brian Mahon is among hundreds of ploughmen and women from all over Europe descending on Wexford this weekend to compete in the European Ploughing Championships.

The Blueball man is in Ballinaboola this week as he makes his final preparations for the event which will see him represent Ireland once more.

Brian will take part in the reversible class alongside Wexford native Dan Donnelly. 13 countries will take part in the two-ay event this weekend.

This year’s National Ploughing Championships takes place in Ballintrane, Fenagh, Co. Carlow from September 17 to 19, having moved on after three years in Offaly.
