Offaly author to launch debut novel this week
Edenderry native Antoinette Tyrrell is set to launch her debut novel 'Home To Cavendish' at Midland Books in Tullamore on Thursday, February 7.
Home To Cavendish harks back to the Irish Civil War era in Cork where a 16-year-old girl from a wealthy family begins a love affair with local rebel Tadgh Carey.
Eighty years later, and protagonist Elenore Stack has inherited her beloved childhood home, Cavendish Hall, the former home of young Edith.
The beautiful house is in need of restoration works and after meeting and falling in love with property developer Donnacha O’Callaghan, they begin work to transform Cavendish into the family guest house of Elenore's dreams.
The book traverses the trouble encountered when Donnacha's real plans to change the house beyond recognition and wipe away Elenore's precious childhood memories.
Elenore is faced with losing Cavendish but when she discovers its connection to young Edith Cavendish, and that becomes her lifelong.
Antoinette will be on hand to launch the book at Midland Books in Tullamore at 8pm on Thursday, February 7. It is available in good bookshops and on Amazon.
