One man arrested after armed raid on Edenderry bookies

Gardaí investigating an armed raid on the Eclipse bookmakers shop in Edenderry on Saturday last, February 17, have arrested two men.

One man, who in aged in his 30s was arrested on Monday, February, amid an increased garda presence in Edenderry, a source confirmed to the Offaly Express.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, and has now been charged in relation to the incident to appear at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday, February 21.

A second man is still being questioned by gardaí in Tullamore.

The arrests relate to a robbery at the bookies shop on JKL Street on Saturday, during which two men entered the premises armed with a knife and screwdriver and demanded cash.
