Edenderry plunged into darkness after massive power cut

1,400 ESB customers are without power this evening after a major fault on the Kildare side of the town. 

The power went out shortly after 8pm and it appears most businesses and homes in the town centre are affected.

The ESB have confirmed that there is a fault just over the border with Kildare out the Dublin Road. 

They have apologised for the inconvenience caused and have given a rough estimated restoration time of midnight tonight.
