Drugs prosecution at Tullamore District Court

DRUGS charges have been brought against a man with an address in Birr.

Edward Kelly (49), McAuley Drive, Birr is accused of possessing drugs on May 14 last at Model School Road, Birr and Banagher Road, Birr.

Mr Kelly is also accused of possessing a controlled drug for sale or supply to others and it is further alleged he impeded Garda Helen Colleran.

The man's solicitor, Patrick Martin, sought an adjournment so that evidence could be disclosed to him.

Judge Andrew Cody ordered that disclosure take place within three weeks and also ruled that Mr Kelly appear before Tullamore District Court again on February 25 next when he will either enter a plea or a date will be fixed for a hearing.

If a hearing is required, Judge Cody said it will be on April 14 next.
