DAINGEAN Canoe Club are currently "in the dark" following a break-in at their clubhouse where thieves made off with the batteries and inverters needed to work their solar panels.
To raise funds to replace the stolen materials, the club are holding a fundraising day on the canal on Sunday, December 14 next.
Members will paddle up the canal from the clubhouse to the Daingean bridge and the kayaks will be decorated with lights.
Santa Claus will come on board of a big boat and there will also be a raffle. Treats include mulled wine and homemade mince pies and hopefully a choir from Daingean school.
