Soccer league unveils plans for huge development on site in Offaly
A local soccer league has unveiled plans for a huge development on 11 hectares of land in Offaly.
The Midlands Schoolboys/girls League intends to apply for permission for development at a site of approximately 11 hectares located in the Townland of Curraghboy or Woodfield, Clara, Offaly.
The development will consist of four playing pitches. Two of the pitches will be synthetic all-weather playing pitches with floodlighting. Two of the pitches will be grass playing pitches while there will also be a grass training/warm-up pitch; a single-level facilities building.
Also included in the large scale plans is a building of approximately 865 sq m gross floor space with a rooftop photovoltaic solar panel array.
This building will include an entrance lobby, function room with servery and reception area, office/meeting room, weight/training room, multipurpose community room, medical/first aid room with toilet, equipment store, five spectator toilets, universal access change room with shower and toilet, plant room and storage/kit room.
There will also be two referee facilities with shower and toilet, two change rooms with showers and toilets, and six change rooms with toilets.
The plans also include 123 vehicle parking spaces, a dedicated vehicle set down area, dedicated coach/bus set down area, and coach/bus parking area.
There are also plans for hard and soft landscaping, access road and vehicle circulation, pedestrian walkways and site lighting.
An application is set to be lodged with Offaly County Council.
