7: Left half back – David Nally (Ferbane)
David Nally has made both hurling and football teams and is a comfortable selection on this – Cormac Egan was not far away from making the hurling team. The Ferbane man is currently at the peak of his powers in both codes. He is not a big man but he is full of heart and he is so good on the ball. He was in great form for Ferbane, dictating games from defence and attack, and getting forward into advanced forward positions. He seldom wasted a ball and while he has been a county hurler and that seems to be his first choice game, he also has a great footballing passion and is certain to be on Mickey Harte's and Declan Kelly's list – he is their type of player and is another who is suited to the new rules.
