End of an era as respected Offaly journalist closes her notebook for the final time

It was the end of an era at the Tullamore Tribune, Midland Tribune and www.offalylive.ie last week when veteran senior reporter, Camilla McLoughlin closed her notebook after almost two decades service.

Camilla, a news, council and courts reporter, also compiled the Clara News page each week as well as writing features for the bi-monthly Offaly Life magazine and the Offaly Yearbook.

Camilla was joined by present and former colleagues in the Blue Apron restaurant in Tullamore on Friday night last for a special dinner to mark her retirement.

Pictured following the meal were (l. to r.) Phyllis Byrne, Alison Dalzell, Derek Fanning, Ger Scully, Camilla McLoughlin, Kevin Corrigan, Veronica Smith, Gearoid Keegan, John O'Callaghan and Sinead Lalor.

Every best wish is extended to Camilla as she embarks on a new chapter in life.
