Lucky Offaly punter lands €120,000 prize with flutter on Lotto Plus

40,000/1 lotto flutter with just €3 pays off in Boyle sports bet

CASH

A County Offaly punter was all smiles on Wednesday evening after beating the odds in their local Boyle Sports shop.

A €3 flutter on five numbers being drawn from the Lotto Plus 2 draw saw the lucky winner cash in for a total of €120,003, meaning they beat colossal odds of 40,000/1 to make it a night they’ll never forget.

With numbers 10, 17, 41 and 45 drawn from television’s most famous drum, the odds of landing the prize began tumbling, with the punter enduring an agonising wait for the bonus ball to appear.

Luck was on their side however, with number 4 tumbling out, meaning they had matched all five of their chosen numbers and were quids in!

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for Boyle Sports, said: “A massive congratulations to our County Offaly customer who landed a life-changing €120,000 profit with just a €3 bet. There aren’t many better ways to kick-start a Bank Holiday weekend, and we wish them all the best as they enjoy their well-earned winnings!”
