Tributes paid on passing of well-known and loved Tullamore man

Members and friends of local retirement group bid farewell to Tom Bracken

The late Tom Bracken

Members and friends of READY are sad to say farewell this week to long time friend and member, Tom Bracken, late of Galbrack, Daingean Road, Tullamore.

Tom attended READY socials, loved to dance when the feet would allow, and indeed enjoyed many trips with us over the years. While in declining health in latter years, Tom would come along anyway, just for the night out and to enjoy the company and of course the music.

Tom was always willing to take part in activities, and a good man to have around when Barry Lacomber hosted one of his quizes, all based on local knowledge.

Tom knew everyone, I guess from his years of serving us over the counter at Central. Always a warm word, always a smile, and consistently helpful,” said READY PRO, Phil Newton.

Philed added: “Tom, may you fly high with angels somewhere beyond the sunrise and sunset. Your journey over, your field ploughed, your harvest in, time to rest.

Sincere condolences to your son Padraic, brother Pat, sister Anne, to your neighbours, relatives, and many friends. May the angels guide your gentle soul safely home.”
