Dublin exiles to stage annual golf classic  for Offaly GAA

The fifth annual Offaly Association in Dublin Golf Classic in association with Shane Lowry will take place again at Palmerstown House Estate Golf club, Naas on Thursday and Friday, the 4th and 5th of September next. To date, this event has raised in excess of 110,000 euro towards the promotion and development of gaelic games in Offaly.

The format of the event will be a four person scramble. Each team to include a minimum of two players with Golf Ireland Handicaps.

The cost per team remains the same as in previous years, at 500 euro while a tee box sponsorship is available at 100 euro.

Your support for this very worthy cause is greatly appreciated. In order to enter a team one you can do so by e mailing

teams@offalyassociationdublin.ie and to sponsor a tee box , one can email teeboxes@offalyassociationdublin.ie .

The bank details are the same as they were last year. If entering a team, people are asked to indicate your preferred tee time slot, making sure that you specify which date you wish to play.

The time sheet is now open. Slots will be allocated on a first come basis.

Over the past four years this golf classic has proven a most enjoyable event with refreshments and meals provided to all participants along with excellent prize opportunities, while at the same time raising valued funds for the Faithful cause.

The committee want to offer a big thank to everyone who supported this event over the past four years and we hope that people can join us again this year for another successful event.

The committee also wish to acknowledge the contributions from the following:- The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, The County Arms Hotel, Birr, Noel Tynan The Celt bar and restaurants, Talbot St. Dublin, Loughlin Murphy, Tom Mangan, Ed Gowran, Tim Quinlan, Glynns pub, and the Leinster Council of the GAA.

Well known former Offaly stars who have played in this golf classic over the past four years are Brian Whelehan, Joe Errity, Aidan Fogarty, Ger Coughlan, Sean Lowry, Richie Connor, Seamus Darby, Padraig Dunne, Michael Duignan, to name just a few.
