In his round on Friday, Shane had two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars to sit four shots behind leaders Nick Taylor and Ben Griffin with 72 holes to go.
Akshay Bhatia sits in third on five under par with world number one Scottie Schefler on four under going into the weekend.
Shane will be in the third last group out on Saturday alongside Sam Burns at 7.48pm Irish time.
