Road in Offaly closing for eight weeks from today to allow upgrade woks on bridge
A busy road that runs from Offaly into Kildare is to close for eight weeks from today.
The road will be closed to allow works to be carried out on a bridge and a detour will be in place.
The road being closed runs from Edenderry to Rathangan with works being carried out on the Cushaling Bridge at the border.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses but the bridge itself will be impassable for the eight week period.
A diversion from Edenderry to Rathangan will run through Clonbullogue.
Offaly County Council says it regrets any inconvenience caused.
