ALERT: Section of busy Offaly road closed for two weeks from today
A section of a busy Offaly road is closing for two weeks from today with diversions being put in place
Road works will take place between Doon Demesne and Ballinahown with 2.8 kilometres of road will be closed for works. Local arrangements will be in place.
Traffic will be diverted via the R-444 through Castledaly and then continuing towards Moate before taking the R-446 on to the N62 and Athlone.
The HGV diversion route will be via the M6 motorway and Tullamore. All diversion routes will be sign posted.
A map indicating the location of the road closure and diversions to be put in place may be viewed on Offaly County Council's website at www.offaly.ie
Offaly County Council says it regrets any inconvenience to road users.
Road works on another stretch of the road on Monday, May 12. These works will take place on the N62 from south of Cloghan for Boolinarig Little with another diversion being put in place.
