Two young men arrested for public order offences in Offaly
Two young men were arrested for committing public order offences during St Patrick's Day in Birr Town.
Late on St Patrick's night, at 2.45am, a young man was engaged in an altercation with another family member. When he was approached by the Gardaí he became aggressive and verbally abusive.
He was asked to leave the area by gardai but failed to do so. He was therefore arrested.
At 7.40pm on Wilmer Road a young man was observed drinking in public from a bottle of Vodka. It was evident he was in a very intoxicated condition.
When the Gardaí approached him he became very aggressive and violent and had to be pepper sprayed. He was arrested and charged.
