Two people arrested after series of thefts from vehicles in Offaly
Offaly Gardaí have arrested two people who were suspected of stealing from vehicles. The two people were arrested in connection with thefts from vehicles in Birr.
On Friday last, a number of thefts from vehicles were reported in Birr.
Gardai say they arrested two individuals who were subsequently charged in connection with the crimes
They issued advice to drivers to always lock their cars, to never leave valuables on display, to park in well-lit, busy areas or secure car parks and to use additional security measures like steering locks or alarms.
They also ask members of the public to report suspicious activity immediately to Gardaí.
