Two men pepper sprayed by gardai in Offaly to break up fight on the street
Two men had to be pepper sprayed by gardai in Offaly to break up a fight on the street.
Gardaí were called to the scene by concerned residents when two men were fighting last week in Fairview, Birr.
According to gardai, the argument had turned into a physical fight.
When gardai arrived, the fight was sufficiently serious that gardai had to use pepper spray to defuse the situation. Fixed Charge Notices were issued. The public order incident happened at 2am on Saturday, February 8.
In a separate incident, two men who gardai described as being 'very drunk' had to be separated when they were arguing in Emmet Square, Birr.
According to gardai, they were having a very loud, drunken argument near the Garda Station in the Square at 1.20am. Gardai separated them and issued Fixed Charge Notices.
