Two men rushed to hospital after road accident in the Midlands

BREAKING NEWS: Gardaí dealing with crash on busy Tipperary road

Gardaí have since reopened a section of the N55 between Granard and Edgeworthstown following a two car collision

Two men are being treated in hospital this following a two car collision in the Midlands this morning.

The incident happened in Longford between Granard and Edgeworthstown.

The incident, which led to the closure of a section of the N55 at Cranleymor, Edgeworthstown, occurred at around 6:30am this morning.

Both men, who sustained injuries in the crash, were taken by ambulance to Mullingar's Midland Regional Hospital for treatment.

"Gardaí attended a two car road traffic collison that occurred at approximately 6:30am this morning, Tuesday, February 28, at Cranleymor, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford," said a spokesperson.

"Two men were taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar to be treated for their injuries. The road was closed for a short period but has since reopened."
