Gareth completes his 200th parkrun at popular Offaly venue

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp.
Gareth Madden completed his 200th parkrun at Mountlucas parkrun at the weekend.
He was joined by his proud wife Michelle and daughters Clíona and Sinéad. Gareth completed his first parkrun in July 2017 and has been attending regularly since then, as both a participant and a volunteer.
Incredibly, Gareth has completed all but one of the 200 parkruns at Mountlucas parkrun. Gareth had brought along a selection of cake and sweet treats to share with other participants.
Speaking to Gareth after the event he said: "Thanks to everyone who ran at Mountlucas parkrun this morning Saturday August 22nd. I genuinely enjoyed sharing the chats and the cakes with you all at the finish line".
There was also cake at Mountlucas parkrun the previous week when Michael Kearney completed his 250th parkrun.
Speaking to Michael after his milestone he said "Parkrun has become such a part of my routine. I think I've only missed about 12 parkruns since I first starting coming to Mountlucas parkrun about 7 years ago. It's not about running every Saturday- sometimes you'll just walk it and you'll always meet someone to chat with on the way around, and get the same encouragement from the volunteers at the finish line."
Other milestones achieved in the last 2 weeks at Mountlucas parkrun include: Richie Farrell and Noeleen Dempsey both completed their 25th parlrun, Gordon Nutterfield completed his 100th parkrun, Edward O'Loughlin completed his 150th parkrun, and John McManus completed his 200th parkrun. Well done everyone!
