Volkswagen Amarok makeS debut

Volkswagen's new Amarok pick-up is maDE its UK debut at the 2011 Outdoors Show at the ExCel exhibition centre.

The event, which tOOK place at London's Docklands from January 13-16, SAW both the standard pick-up and the limited edition Berghaus model shown in the UK for the first time.

Volkswagen expects the Amarok's appeal to be boosted by the largest load dimensions in its class and technology and safety systems not usually associated with the sector such as Electronic Differential Lock, Anti-Slip Regulation, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control and off-road ABS.

Specialising in all aspects of outdoor pursuits and experiences, the Outdoors Show is now in its tenth year, and 2011 marks the event's first visit to the capital. More than 125,000 visitors are expected to pass through the doors over the next four days.

Created in collaboration with the outdoor clothing specialists, the California Berghaus limited edition model will be available with a 2.0-litre BiTDI 180PS engine and boasting standard equipment including a bike rack, awning, Berghaus-branded carpet mats and waterproof seat covers, and exclusive 18-inch two-colour 'Dakar' alloy wheels.

The Amarok goes on sale in the UK in Spring.
