'A dream come true' - community playground in Offaly gets planning permission

Planning permission has been granted for a new playground beside the GAA grounds in Mucklagh.
Welcoming the decision, Mucklagh Playground Committee said on Facebook: “We are delighted to announce we have received our planning permission grant for Mucklagh Playground at our revised site at the Shamrocks GAA grounds, Brocca Rd, Mucklagh”.
“This has been a huge milestone for us. We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped us get to this point, especially Jenny at Barnes, Nolan and Associates, everyone in the planning department at Offaly County Council and the committee at Shamrocks GAA Offaly, who have been endlessly helpful, welcoming and encouraging throughout this endeavour,” the committee added.
“We are now so very close to making this dream a reality, and we cannot wait to see you all enjoying Mucklagh Playground in the near future,” they said.
Planning permission was granted, subject to seven conditions. The development will consist of new play areas, new boundary treatments and all associated site works.
This application will subdivide a portion of the existing carpark area of the existing site.
A castle climbing frame, a carousel, an agility trail, a WeHopper see-saw, a swing-set, a multi-spinner carousel, a triple play tower and a sensory play panel are all planned for the playground.
