Golden Grove and Orange Hill with the Roscrea Hiking Club

The longer evenings are coming to an end and very soon Roscrea Trailblazers will be back to hiking with head torches, which always give a different perspective to night walking.

Their walk last Friday night was the Lough Boora Parklands loop and was walked in poor conditions as a light rain was covering the Offaly boglands.

This did not deter the group from having a very pleasant evening walk. Well done to everyone that made the effort.

This Friday night’s walk (the 25th) is the Golden Grove/Orange Hill Loop. Distance: 7.5 km, Grade: Easy/Moderate, Time: 1.5 hours. Meeting at The Dromakeenan School Carpark at 7pm.

Well done to our members who took on Ireland's highest mountain Carrauntouhill last Saturday. A fantastic achievement and one to be very proud of.

We would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below.

To join the group and to see what the club has to offer please follow the contact details below.

If you would like to join us on any of our night walks or weekends away, you can contact Cathal on 086 3399 193 and receive updates through WhatsApp.

“You will be made feel very welcome,” the Club said.
